I could not agree more with Rey on this note. I think the fans more than anything else will be the intangible collaboration with the artist. If this proves to be successful then this will ultimately catapult any artist beyond.

Your Comment

Truth is, if you fail to create a real connection with the fans or friends you make online, you will ultimately loose them all offline.

I so agree with you Kevin and since we have much more freedom rather than being tied to a label that controls, the musician or artist has to know not only the music side but also the business side of how things are which include marketing and getting to know your fans.

I am sure many are aware of social media such as facebook and twitter. But many musicians are still stuck in the old ways of marketing and PR. They think they'll get noticed just like that, without making the effort to market themselves especially in the information age.

Thanks Justin. Glad you found it useful. Well talk more about what World Around does for its artists offline, but it sure looks like a label to me. Organizations like yours and artists around the world have in fact been empowered this decade. I wonder how many are using it to their advantage?

I dig it. I like the simplicity of the model, and the fact that it's a minimum definition of "Label" -- I like have reasons and meaning behind the English language. It's also significant because it means my own operation, World Around, isn't really a label since artists handle their own Road and we've got .01% Radio connects for our market.

Another point that comes to mind is how totally band/management operations have been empowered in the past decade. Kind of amazing.
